What People Are Saying About Dwayne Clark’s Aegis Living

"chronic staffing issues. High turnover of nurses and caregivers."

Aegis Living employee on Glassdoor

"It costs a resident between 15 and 18 thousand dollars a month to live here, and that doesn't include specific care items which are billed whether they are provided or not. They get incorrect meals and have to wait up to 20 minutes to have their buttons answered. They don't get the 24 hours nursing even though they pay for it, and they don't get adequate hygiene because the staff is stretched so thin."

Aegis Living Care Manager on Glassdoor

"Rampant understaffing. Putting caregivers at risk, and medtechs passing meds to 45 to 60 people"

Aegis Living employee on Glassdoor

"Management doesn't care about staff or residents, only their employee parties. Management and staff drink alcohol on the job. They like to look good in front of families. They charge family's for thing that are supposed to be provided by the facility ( toilet paper, paper towel, wipes, diapers ect.) The Pay is Terrible for how staff is treated. Facility need deep cleaning there is always an ant or roach infestation in residents rooms or kitchen."

Aegis Living CNA on Indeed

"The levels of neglect due to understaffing are ridiculous. It's really not the care staff fault, everybody is running around all day trying to take care of the residents but there are not enough caregivers. The residents are very understanding but they shouldn't have to be, especially since they pay over 150,000 a year to live here."

Aegis Living Care Manager/CNA on Glassdoor

"there are about 20-30 residents on a floor, and only 2 carestaff and 1 med tech on each floor (memory care would have 3 carestaff). The location I worked at always had multiple people who were 2 person assists in the assisted living floors, so that leaves no one to answer calls or help other residents if someone who is a 2 person assists needs help. And that help can vary, a shower can take an hour and that’s an hour no one else on the floor can help except the med tech, whose responsibility is passing meds - and there are a LOT of meds to pass (especially AM), so there is virtually no time for us to provide QUALITY care to the residents."

"The employees here are also overworked and having to fill in with everything that has to be done here because of staff shortage."

"One issue that concerns me is the high turnover rate among the nursing staff. It is frustrating to build a relationship with a nurse only to have them leave shortly after...I do feel that addressing the issue of ants at Aegis Living is necessary. It is disheartening to witness such a problem in a facility where we are paying significant amounts of money for our loved ones to reside."

Susan Y on Google Reviews

"Very stressful, always under-staffed. Management totally out of touch with staff and resident needs."

Aegis Living CNA on Indeed

"Recently a lot of employees have complained to me about being short staffed and overworked. They have also voiced out that it seems like the management doesn’t care for them or the residents."

Chetty on Google Reviews

"While the caregivers really do their best, we came to see just how thin they were spread (especially off hours) and always managed to 'efficiency' meaning keep moving. I also found myself often doing routine maintenance- unplugging the toilet, changing light bulbs, fixing window cranks, etc. after just being tired of asking for them to be fixed you just do it yourself."

Ed S on Google Reviews

"Short staffed, poor management, don’t care about the residents just the money"

Aegis Living Care Manager on Indeed

"It is extremely understaffed and often you will be working 8 hour shifts handling an entire floor by yourself. This place has no way of keeping employees safe from injuries as you will end up picking up residents on your own and not being provided with proper care tools."

Aegis Living CNA on Indeed

"Resident neglect: during my time there multiple floods took place. One occurred in memory care with a ceiling leak where a resident was left in a flooding room for over six hours because nobody was doing the required checks. And it’s memory care, residents can’t be expected to understand the reality water is flooding from the ceiling. As well, one resident was in the process of dying, and was supposed to be receiving half hour checks. Their apartment was flooding the entire time too. It was only after an employee filed a complaint with the state that anyone took any sort of notice, and then it was a frantic rush to cover things up."

Aegis Living Staff on Glassdoor

"There’s a high turnover rate, so less experienced employees are training even less experienced employees, which creates huge opportunities for safety concerns. Management has no interest in these issues as long as money keeps flowing."

Aegis Living Wellness Nurse on Indeed

"dec 2018. the food served, in all aspects is pathetic, that they serve their residents. update: 1 year later dec 2019. food still very bad. some tenants are being sent to the hospital with food poisoning."

Jim T on Google Review

"In spite of many appeals by myself and other residents, no changes in cooking, food handing or quality have been made. This low quality of food prevents me from me giving a high star rating and would not allow me to give a positive recommendation to friends and colleagues who ask me."

Paul J on Google Review

"Horrible place for parents. Service and response to call buttons was very poor (over 1 hour)."

Alice W. on Google Review

"Aegis Living resident's family members “found her on multiple occasions in linen and adult diapers soiled with urine and feces. Her teeth, hair and nails were often left unclean and she even required hospitalization after doctors discovered she was dehydrated."

"Poor pay only 20$ and you’re doing everything you can think of for the residents while no help no support from management at all."

Aegis Living CNA on Glassdoor

"Poor salary, under staffed, bad scheduling, poor management... I'm expected to pass out meds to 45 people which is absolutely ridiculous as well as unsafe."

Aegis Living Nurse on Indeed

"The nursing aids and helpers are underpaid, overworked, and taken for granted by management... Aegis is particularly talented at nickel-and-diming residents. There is considerable turnover in management and nursing staff.

Hardy J on Google Review

"I worked here and it was very uncomfortable and racist. The directors did not care whatsoever. I was harassed by a male employee who work there as well, and when I expressed my concerns to the director they did not care."

Queen Z on Google Reviews

"There were many times that there were too many resident per staff ratio. The General Manager was really outta touch of the care side of the nursing home."

Aegis Living Caregiver CNA on Glassdoor

"This pay is terrible for the type of labor you are required to do. The management does not care about the well being of its staff. Every shift is understaffed."

Aegis Living Medication Technician on Indeed

"the pay is LOW (like minimum wage) while the owner has a private jet and a custom tree house at HQ."

Aegis Living Activities Assistant on Indeed

"It’s a beautiful place, too bad the management is an embarrassment. They don’t respond to emails or calls with questions, don’t call you when your loved one was taken to the hospital, their records are laughable (my 10 year-old could write better chart notes); however, their billing department is spot on and always collect 14k/month on time! Avoid this place!"

Amanda R on Google Review

"The pay is low and the benefits are sub-par. The Founder and CEO is out of touch with the needs of his employees"
